In the spotlight
The Netherlands and Italy are partnering to combine innovative water management technologies with practical solutions, focusing on key Italian priorities like water distribution, wastewater treatment, and water reuse. This collaboration aims to improve water efficiency, optimise infrastructure, and enhance access to clean water. With the Netherlands' expertise and Italy's commitment, the partnership addresses challenges like water scarcity and promotes sustainable energy practices. The PIB NLwatertech2Italy, a public-private initiative, brings together key organisations to foster local connections and drive impactful solutions in water management.
The NLwatertech2Italy cluster is set to showcase Dutch expertise in water technology at Ecomondo 2025. Held from 4 to 7 November 2025 at the Ecomondo Expo Centre, Rimini serves as a pivotal platform for professionals in the water sector to explore innovative solutions addressing climate change, resource efficiency, and sustainable urban development.
We look forward to engange and discuss cutting-edge technologies that contribute to resilient and sustainable water management systems.
Mexico is actively advancing its water management systems, with a focus on three key areas: water scarcity, wastewater treatment, and infrastructure development. With over 77% of Mexico's population living in regions where water resources are under increasing demand, particularly in urban areas, the need for innovative and sustainable solutions is urgent. In response, Mexico has introduced the Water National Plan 2024-2030, which outlines a strategic framework to ensure long-terms water security and resilience accross the country.
Water scarity remains a central priority for improvement under this plan, and the Netherlands, a global leader in water management, is an ideal partner to support Mexico in achieving its objectives. Through the Public-Private Partnership, the Dutch water sector offers cutting edge solutions that align with the goals of the national plan, supporting efforts to enhance water access, optimise infrastructure, and build resilience to climate change.
