Cybersecurity USA
The world is more interconnected than ever. Our daily lives are increasingly digital, with personal data stored on devices and in the cloud, and the products we use (and their production processes) becoming ever more connected. Alongside these developments, cyber threats are becoming increasingly prevalent. In response, cybersecurity is critical to safeguarding data, protecting essential processes, and supporting a resilient global economy.
The diplomatic relations the USA and the Netherlands share are among the oldest continuous bilateral relationships in the United States. Ensuring secure and effective cyber infrastructure is crucial in achieving both countries’ mutual goal towards a more cyber secure world. Together with US counterparts, a joint venture of Dutch companies and knowledge institutes supported by government institutions is working to strengthen global cybersecurity.
Unified approach
The Netherlands can support the USA in their cybersecurity ambitions by taking a unified approach with niche experts and share knowledge and expertise in, amongst others, securing critical infrastructure against cyber threats, protecting human privacy and securely managing data. With this partnership, all layers (logical, physical and social) of cybersecurity are accounted for with the latest, and more innovative, solutions on offer.
Digital gateway
The USA can benefit from the Netherlands’ strategic geographical location and position as digital gateway to Europe. With a highly-skilled workforce, ranked within the global top-5 for cyber-literacy and education, a strong participation in the RSA conference in San Francisco and hosting the One conference in The Hague, the Netherlands focuses on enhancing market entry of cybersecurity businesses and offers a unique entry point to Europe.

Hydrogen Australia
Hydrogen Australia
Hydrogen Australia
The hydrogen sector is a strong upcoming industry with high potential for growth in both the Netherlands and Australia. Innovative cooperation between the two countries will drive innovation in the production and supply of hydrogen and accelerate the broad application of hydrogen in industry, mobility and the built environment.
Hydrogen is playing a key role in the energy transition in both countries. Innovations are following one another in quick succession and as the broad range of applications available widens, development in this sector is moving rapidly.
Australia is investing in the export of green hydrogen to the international markets, including Europe. Setting up a robust supply chain is the first step in realising the export of green hydrogen. Meanwhile projects are underway for large-scale green hydrogen production.
Green hydrogen driving the energy transition
Australia has ideal conditions to develop large green hydrogen projects and with high potential for export. With an abundance of sun and wind, it can develop its hydrogen production based fully on renewable energy. As Australia is not rich in drinking water and fossil energy production is water intensive. Hydrogen production is an attractive alternative. After all water, is the end product of hydrogen use. At the same time, companies have to be mindful of responsible water use. This is a stimulus to create water-efficient processes from the outset.
Hydrogen production will help Australia achieve its ambitions to reduce carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) and costs, while scaling up its clean hydrogen production facilities and broadening applications. As Australia transitions, its shipping companies and ports will be looking for new business, hydrogen can replace falling exports of fossil fuels.
The PIB H2 Australia aims to:
Promote and position the Netherlands hydrogen sector, including promotion of best practices and green hydrogen in Australia
The Netherlands has a complete hydrogen supply chain, powered by a strong cluster in and around Arnhem (east Netherlands), the first European Hydrogen Valley in the northern part of the country and the key role of the Port of Rotterdam, as a green gateway to the European market.
Engage in business-to-business activities, knowledge exchange and strengthening government-to-government relations in order to promote the Netherlands hydrogen sector
Together, we can explore how hydrogen technology can be applied to build resilient infrastructure, and create economic opportunities through cooperation between companies and research institutions. In doing so, accelerating innovation beyond our borders, (SDG 9).
Encourage commercialise sales, exchange technological knowledge and enhance Government-to-Government collaboration
By positioning the whole hydrogen sector strategically and in a sustainable manner the cluster will engage in collaborative partnerships with local public and private entities. By combining the use of hydrogen with fuel cells in energy supply and transportation industries, we will be able to take a significant step towards a sustainable future for the next generations.

Hydrogen in the Gulf Region
As we face the same challenges in finding a zero pathway, we all want to contribute to a smooth transition to renewable energy. In support of decarbonising global production and energy use, hydrogen has been identified as an essential component and part of the solution to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and their impact on global warming. Hydrogen is an energy carrier that can be stored and eliminates the imbalance between the supply and demand of renewable energy like solar and wind. As hydrogen is a relatively new product to use at scale, a whole new value chain is being developed to support the production, transport, storage, distribution and usage of (low carbon) hydrogen and its derivatives.
Opportunities for the Gulf states
Sustainable growth and development can only be achieved through joint efforts. The hydrogen sector is an upcoming industry with high potential for growth both in the Netherlands and the Gulf states. The Netherlands has embraced the development of clean hydrogen as an essential energy carrier and wants to play a significant role in implementing and operating this new value chain. The UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman are dedicated to leading the global sustainable transition in the clean hydrogen sector.
