Every big change starts with a small idea. And often, that idea comes from a student. Each year, the search for The Most Innovative Student of the Netherlands shows us how much creativity and courage can be found in classrooms and labs across the country.

When curiosity meets courage

From nearly 100 entries this year, eight finalists have been selected. Their ideas touch on some of the biggest challenges we face today: climate change, sustainable energy, circular design, and accessible technology. From charging electric cars in under four minutes to making websites readable for the blind, their work is proof that innovation is not just about the future. It is happening right now.

On 2 October, these students will take the stage at ACT Eventstudios in Arnhem. In front of a live audience and an expert jury, they will pitch their solutions. The winner will carry the title of 'The Most Innovative Student of the Netherlands 2025'. But more than that, they will gain the chance to step onto international stages, from Helsinki to Lisbon, and connect with changemakers around the world.

What makes this competition special is not only the talent on display, but the spirit behind it. We see students who want to solve problems that go far beyond their own lives. They are rethinking energy, healthcare, education, and waste. They show us how innovation can be bold and practical at the same time.

Previous winners have already proven the impact: from battery systems now making their way to Silicon Valley, to startups breaking through across Europe. This new generation is ready to continue that story.
