Poultry Forward Kazakhstan
Kazakhstan’s poultry sector is growing rapidly. Rising demand for locally produced poultry meat and eggs is driving investment, while the country is working towards greater self-sufficiency in poultry production. The next step is to build a poultry sector that is not only productive, but also sustainable and internationally competitive.
Achieving this requires more than expanding farms or introducing new technologies. A strong poultry sector depends on a well-connected value chain, where every link – from the parent flock and hatchery to feed, housing, animal health and processing – contributes to consistent quality and efficient production.
The Netherlands has extensive experience in developing poultry production as an integrated system. Through PIB Poultry Forward Kazakhstan, six Dutch companies bring together expertise across the entire value chain, combining knowledge, technology and practical experience. Together with Kazakh producers, businesses, knowledge institutions and government, they work to understand local needs and develop solutions that fit the Kazakh context.
The partnership builds on an existing cooperation between the Netherlands and Kazakhstan in agriculture. Since 2023, both countries have worked together through a joint Agricultural Working Group, exchanging knowledge, sharing best practices and exploring opportunities to further develop the agricultural sector. The PIB brings this cooperation into the poultry sector, with the ambition to strengthen every link in the chain and contribute to a more productive, sustainable and competitive poultry sector.
