Climate-Neutral Real Estate Gulf Region
The Dutch Climate-Neutral Real Estate cluster in the Gulf region brings together Dutch government, research institutes, and industry partners to accelerate the transition to sustainable and resilient urban development. With the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, and Oman setting ambitious strategies for climate-neutral real estate, the cluster mobilises Dutch expertise to support regional net-zero ambitions.
Its approach is tailored to the Gulf’s unique conditions such as extreme heat, humidity, dust, and scarce water resources, while aligning with local regulations and 2030 sustainability strategies. Dutch solutions have already been tested and implemented in the region, including solar modules at the University of Riyadh and an integrated energy system with sustainable lighting at the Dutch Pavilion during Expo 2020 Dubai. These innovations are designed to be low maintenance, cost-effective, and to improve energy efficiency, air quality, and overall quality of life.
The cluster offers a full range of products and services for climate-neutral real estate, including renewable energy systems, advanced cooling technologies, smart building solutions, water management, and circular construction methods. Dutch partners also provide expertise in architectural design, compliance, and green finance, ensuring that solutions are innovative, scalable, and tailored to the needs of the Gulf Region.
